My Just Love PB 15 Keys
- Divide Your Body and Court in 3. Zone 123. Zone 1 - Feet to Knees aka The Red Zone. Drop, dink, and reset. Do not speed up from Zone 1. Zone 2 - Knees to Waist aka The Yellow Zone. All shots are open but attack Down-the-Middle and Down-the-Line except when your opponent is in transition. Zone 3 - Waist & Up aka The Green Zone. Attack in this Zone except from behind the baseline. The Backcourt, Transition Zone, and Front Court aka The Kitchen.
- Bob - Bottom of the Ball. Eyes and paddle on the bottom until complete.
- PID - Plan, Identity and Discipline.
- Positioning - Position to take 80% Forehands on Returns and Thirds, but as you move forward to FC protect your bullseye and slide to 80% Backhands.
- Footwork - Stay open with paddle in front. No Unit Turn. 1-2 Steps in any direction followed by pointing the paddle in direction you hit to line hips, feet, and have the paddle ready. A. Right Slide, Left Slide. B. Right Hinge, Left Hinge. C. Diagonal Open Stance Hinge Slide, Diagonal Open Stance Right Slide.
- Make It Bounce - When you’re at The Kitchen do not add nor speed up from Zone 1. Don’t reach either. Be willing to use your hinge steps and reset and MAKE IT BOUNCE. The first player/team to get it to the other team in the air in Zone 2 and/or 3 will lose 80% of the points because you and your partner have less reaction time.
- Keep it in front of your partner in the “V”.
- Serve and return to the Backhand and Body 80% of the time.
- Learn to absorb drives like a shock absorber with loose grip pressure and Make It Bounce short and low in the Kitchen so you are not giving your opponent another drive to pass or bodybag.
- Use all 3 Third Shots in today’s game to set up you and your partner. Drop, Drip, and Drive.
- Do not Hit The Panic Button when pushed out, Use the Reset Button.
- Talk about Discipline and Decision Making between points with positive language and positive feedback.
- Use your Time Outs if you lose 3-4 points in a row to stop “mo” and make changes.
- Review your Note Cards and Play your Game based on Scoring Management.
- Smile and Play to Win!
You Got This!
